Seasonal Japanese Candy: Toppo, Pie no Mi, Pocky

This week was full of candy purchases, because the seasonal candy for autumn has finally been released!

Toppo Canadian Maple Syrup
Toppo is a flipped version of the traditional biscuit stick dipped in chocolate. The biscuit part is actually a tube with the middle piped full of (in this case) maple syrup flavored white chocolate.
One of the main selling points of Toppo over Pocky, is that it has "chocolate all the way through", where as Pocky has a small portion left bare of chocolate.
This was a little too sweet for me, even though I love maple syrup. The biscuit part was a little greasier than Pocky, which makes me wonder if the "chocolate all the way through" is always a good thing.
Pie no Mi Milk Pie no Mi is little round cookies made of pastry dough, and filled with a flavored chocolate. This seasonal version is milk while chocolate. The cutest thing about this box is that there is a new "pie song" written under the lid.
Pocky ChestnutI'm going through a bit of a chestnut (マロン marron) phase right now, so seeing these Chestnut Pocky at the store made me very happy. There is supposedly 13% chestnut in the chocolate on these biscuits. These were great! Not too sweet, and you can see the little pieces of chestnut on each stick of Pocky.
